Separating brand demand from acquisition in Saudi Arabia
Earlier Shopping and Performance Max tests had struggled to scale safely. The account needed a clear view of existing brand demand and of real prospecting performance.
- Ad spend, 2 months
- SAR 24.1K
- Reported conversions
- 508
- Conversion value
- SAR 173K
- Reported ROAS
- 7.19x
Brand’s stated break-even ROAS: 3.5x. Figures are in Saudi riyal and kept separate from dollar accounts.
What I found
With brand and non-brand traffic mixed, nobody could say whether prospecting was profitable on its own, so there was no safe way to add budget.
What I decided
- Restructured the Google Ads account.
- Separated Brand and Non-Brand Search so each could be judged on its own.
- Used the brand's stated 3.5x break-even ROAS as the reference for every budget decision.
Judged against
The brand's stated 3.5x break-even ROAS, with Non-Brand Search judged on its own.
Reported result
Over February and March 2026 the account spent SAR 24.1K and reported SAR 173K in conversion value from 508 conversions, a 7.19x ROAS.
